MHA were approached by the owners of a property in Staines upon Thames to project-manage and monitor works to extend their living space and benefit from the extensive river views.
- Update external appearance of 1970’s property and provide access to external areas and river view
- Flood Risk Considerations
- Poor Access
What We Did
The client had appointed an architect to design a scheme including new bi-fold doors, main entrance door and new deck to provide additional outdoor space surrounded by structural glazing balustrades to provide an uninterrupted river view.
MHA drew up the specification for the architect's scheme and tendered the works. Consideration needed to be given to the construction of the deck so as not to affect the efficiency of the flood prevention measures included within the original build.
The client had also sourced new bi-fold doors and also the main entrance door. The company involved proved troublesome and MHA had to negotiate a settlement as a result of delays caused by delivery. The structural glazing also caused installation issues.
The project was completed within an acceptable timescale and the clients are very pleased with the completed job.
